Bring Your People Back, Ep.9

Guest: Nick Desert, MCM Interiors

BDC’s Vancouver Flagship Office

Nick Desert, Associate Interior Designer at MCM Interiors uncovers his journey as a life-long Interior Designer. He learned to read floor plans at the same time that he learned to read. MCM’s team developed two primary concepts that they wanted to explore blending into the space in a few unique ways. One concept was called the Sophisticated Uptown and the other was the Radiant Resi-merical. The Sophisticated Uptown concept featured a more corporate palette of natural maple, black metal, with a lot of white and clean crisp lines, which more closely aligned with BDC’s branding standards. The Radiant Resi-mercial concept was softer and more comfortable, with rich, saturated jewel tones and more curved architectural elements. Their goal for the space was to blur the line between residential and commercial, to create an environment that felt familiar when transitioning back to working from the office, but still separate enough from the home office aesthetic.
