Influencing Culture, Ep 1

Guest: Janay Koldingnes, Edit Studios

BlueArck Private Equity

It was important to Aleem Ahamed, owner and founder of BlueArck Private Equity, that the office feel like a home. A place to congregate, break, and talk. It’s easy to notice that this isn’t a white, sleek, and stark commercial office that you might expect for this industry. It was important to Aleem that the office introduced a soft French Country style as well as a level of modernity. A big fan of provincial design, he also wanted to create a warm aesthetic, to appeal to all genders, in an often male-driven industry. Edit Studio’s design was curated to address BlueArck’s mission of building a culture that was committed to a balanced lifestyle. Aleem didn’t want staff staying all hours of the night, in fact he wanted his team to get work done during the day, so that they could go home to their families. The unique business drivers and culture that influenced the design is what sets this project apart.

Culture Circle Framework

One of my many passions is helping design firms reach their business goals. For this reason I’ve developed a framework relevant to this episode’s topic - influencing culture - called the ‘Culture Circle Framework’. I would love to share my framework with you, as well as tools and resources we have at Herman Miller that can help you support client conversations around the topic of Culture. I’d be delighted to have a conversation with you to discuss my framework more thoroughly.
