Design A Branded Experience Through Colour, Ep 2

Guest: Amber Kingsnorth, Mak Interiors

Axiom Zen

The leadership team at Axiom Zen had a bold theme in mind for their new office inspiration . On a very rare occasion does a client pitch a ‟Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” concept to their design team. Thankfully, the design team at Mak Interiors couldn’t have been a more perfect match to design the ideal branded experience for Axiom Zen.

The space plan is the biggest indicator of the theme, with its curving walkways mimicking Wonka’s iconic chocolate river. Mak Interiors created a twisting and turning pathway of polished concrete connecting work spaces, meeting rooms, and break-out areas for an office experience that flows seamlessly. The curvy lines are set off by a mostly neutral backdrop of crisp white walls, with pops of colour at communal destinations such as the town hall/kitchen, meeting rooms, and library space.

Artist murals, cotton-candy-coloured carpet, and furniture that spans a rainbow of gum-drop colours reflect Axiom Zen’s array of branded companies and their inventive nature as a team. This project tells an exemplary story of Axiom’s brand achieved through a blend of graphics, colour implementation and asking inquisitive client questions.
